Volunteer Information

LFST is proud to be part of the Mobile County Aquatics League (MCAL), where our swim team competes against other MCAL teams. To ensure our meets run smoothly and keep summer swim registration fees affordable, MCAL relies on volunteer support instead of hiring additional assistance.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Each family is required to fulfill four volunteer credits during the 2025 season.
  • Families who do not meet this requirement will be charged $100.
  • Volunteer requirements for Transitional Team will be updated once we have our 2025 meet schedule.
  • Guppie parents do not have volunteer requirements.

Volunteer Positions Available:

  • Clerk of Course: Organizes swimmers by heat and lane, ensuring they are ready for their events.
  • Computer Assistant: Assists Computer Head with averaging times and entering them into the computer.
  • Concessions: Works in concessions taking, prepping, and passing out orders.
  • Golf Cart Driver: Drives attendees from their parking spots to the pool at the beginning of the meet and from the pool to their parking spots after the meet.
  • Head Timer: Manages stopwatch timing for races, ensuring accurate timing for each swimmer.
  • Runner: Assists with distributing water to timers and coaches and bringing time sheets to the computer tent.
  • Timer: Times swimmers in assigned lanes and records their times.
  • Starter (training required): Announces events and starts races with a buzzer.
  • Stroke and Turn Judge (certification required): Ensures fair competition by monitoring swimmers and handling disqualifications when necessary.
